Upgrading RAM HP m9260f

Hello,

I have an HP m9260f desktop PC and I am looking to upgrade the RAM.

It is currently running 4 GB (4x1gb sticks) of PC2 /6400 DDR2.

I am looking to upgrade it to the 8GB that it can run (4x2GB)

My question is about the power supply. It is 300w, and runs the system now. Do I need to upgradethe power supply to run the added ram?

Short answer...no.

RAM is low enough power consumption that it shouldn't matter.

If you were looking to upgrade your video card, then yes, you'd need to upgrade the power supply.
