I installed the Asus p6t deluxe mobo with a core i7 cpu and Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333.

when i turn it on all the fans are running and the light on my mouse is on but theres no video. also the lights on the mobo are on but the power button on the mobo stays red when i turn it on and im pretty sure it should turn green.

any ideas on whats wrong im guessing its either motherboard or cpu.

There are people far smarter than me who are likely to respond to this thread, but I wanted to drop a note in the mean time. Some questions that might be useful though... does the system speaker give you any beep codes? do the hard drives spin up? do you have both onboard video and a separate video card? did you make sure to follow the installation guide and ensure that you installed spacers where needed to eliminate grounding problems?

It doesn't look like that RAM is on the approved list...

Is the EATX12V connector connected?

i got a new psu that 600w and has an 8 pin connector and is EATX12V
but the same thing is happening do you think the RAM could be the problem
and yes all the hard drives are spining and there are no beeps

ok i had the RAM in the wrong slots this whole time i had them in a2 b2 instead of a1 b1 but it only works when one stick of RAM is inserted so i guess ill just return the RAM and get RAM that 1.65v or less and compatible with core i7 thank you for your help everyone :)
