Hi everyone, when I turn on the laptop lights come on on keyboard, no screen, no beeps, sometimes no fan. Power cord did charge the battery.
Get same result with power cord plugged or unplugged.
dvdrw will spin when I put in a cd, but thats all. I know power is getting to the board. Nothing after that. Does a laptop beep on startup like a pc?. My guess is board and or processor.
I'm hoping I am wrong, any input?
Thanks
MIke

Most laptops don't beep.

Try plugging in an external monitor.

At this point, when I turn it on the fan kicks on for a second and then off. All lights remain on on the keyboard.

Try the following reset procedure...

1 Remove external power From PC
2 Remove Battery from PC
3 Hold power on button down for 60 seconds
4 Plug external power (No Battery Yet)
5 See if PC now turns on.
6 If it turns on. Let it boot to the desktop.
7 After all activity is done.
8 Shut PC down normally
9 Plug battery back in and then see if it still boots.

Procedure done, no success, just keyboard lights.
After doing some reading on this subject, I'm glad I don't need a laptop. I'll try another idea if you have one. I'll tell my sister that it don't look good.
Thanks

Already did that, sorry I forgot to tell you. Also tried it with one only,

Umm...well, then, I guess it's time to call it a day, I can't think of anything else to try.
