Legend has it that Archimedes exclaimed this when he stepped into the tub and noticed the level of the water had risen. Loosely interpreted, it is an interjection that portends a feeling of enlightenment and discovery.

I felt like this the first time I ever used SSH. I connected to my computer at my house and had access to everything from work, and was convinced that it was the coolest thing ever.

I want to know about your "eureka!" moments dear fellow forum members. Talk about a time when you said "wow, cool!" and ran to tell someone about it. (Usually an indifferent spouse or significant other.) Computer geeks are full of these, especially Linux users. But feel free to apply the topic to other fields of discovery.

LOL! You got that right! :p

I have had many Eureka! moments in computing, but probably the one that comes to mind quickest is the original one of realizing computers are nothing more than a bunch of on and off switches. That was the moments I became hooked on computers and still fuels my enthusiasm today.

Think of how many billions of times a "switch" changed state just during the course of typing out this post while listening to some music in the background. Fascinating! :p

Another that comes to mind is the moment when it clicked in my brain how subnets work. :)
