Ram memory count in BIOS

Hi

How can I stop the RAM memory being counted twice in the BIOS, as this is very time wasting waiting for the ram to be counted, I can overide it by pressing Esc, but It would be better if I knew which thing to change in the BIOS, I have managed by accident to change the settings before but I can't remeber which setting it was, does anyone know ?

Do you mean that during POST there is a display on screen of the BIOS checking/counting the amount of installed RAM?
And it does that check twice and shows that on screen?

Is there a BIOS configuration setting displayed in the BIOS Setup for "quick test" [the one you want] as opposed to "verbose"?

You should have a BIOS option something like "Quick POST", make sure it is enabled...
