I would like to set up print sharing under windows. There are two PC's and only one printer. I would like to be able to print from the PC that doesn't have a printer attached. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi Shana,

Yes, there is a way. I have much the same setup at work, two computers, one printer.

I purchased a Parallel Reversible Auto Switch, Model AS-152P. It's basically a 2-In-1-Out setup. You can probably find it at most computer stores.

Can't remember how much it costs. But it sure is handy. You just hook both computers to the In connections and hook the printer to the Out connection. The switch should come with a Users Manual and software. If you don't have one already, you will need an additional parallel printer cable for the second computer.

Good luck.

Whoops, forgot to mention anything about the software setup on your two separate computers. That's simple, just make sure the printer is installed on both machines as the default printer. Let the switch take care of the rest.
