Hi all. :)

Well, while browsing around in some of the old CD's, I came across a couple of MTV vids on the(now ancient!) Windows 95B CD.

It is found at D:\funstuff\videos(assuming D: is your CD-ROM drive)

Interestingly, goodtime.avi in the highperf folder, is pretty pixelated by today's standards, and the exact same vid in the mpeg folder is far better(and the sound is a much better mix - the avi's audio is over-driven(distorted))

wheezer.mpg is obviously by Wheezer, but I have no idea at all who or what group is singing the goodtime.avi/goodtime.mpg video, so I would love to know who the artist is...

I remember at the time, being so amazed at the fact that this new fangled Windows 95 could play full-motion video - even if the video quality was down a bit, I still remember being very amazed that computers were now fast enough to play video files(a whole 100MHz P1 Socket-7 at the time!!!!).

Pulled out my Win95 CD and played goodtime.avi using the VLC player run within BoxPup Linux. :)

I remember way back in 1997 using the QuickTime player to play it.
Liked the song [still do], but was disappointed at how small the image window had to be to avoid degraded image quality.

I should try it on my DOS Box.

What's funny is that I have two copies of 95. One only has the goodtime.avi the other one has all of the ones mentioned, plus a Rob Roy trailer...

It is my understanding, that 95A CD only had the AVI's, 95B CD had the AVI's and the MPG, and 95C had the AVI's, the MPG's and the RobRoy preview. My 95 CD is the B release, and so has the vids, but NOT the RobRoy preview. That's my understanding, anyway...

OK...so I wonder what the third copy I have (disk no longer wants to read) is...since it looks like I've one A and one C.

Edie Brickell you say? I'm more aware of this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPs7-5feq-M) with 'her' band rather than the goodtime.avi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyvVDAe9BzI)

I have a couple different copies of 95 somewhere near if I didn't use them for skeet  , I'll look later 'if you know what I mean'. I used to just copy 'Hover.exe' for young kids/grandkids to play along with other games to put on floppies like Clickomania.

'What I am' by EB and the NB, and anything from early Bonnie Raitt with Freebo is what first interested me in fretless bass playing. I think it sounds soooo sweet! :)

I'll be ice fishing tomorrow, hopefully I won't need to use Edie's words to get back to shore... ;)
