what are good timings and brands on PC2 6400 ram these days.

Standard timings for DDR2-800 are 5-5-5-18. Anything lower than that is great.

Corsair, Crucial/Micron, Kingston, Patriot are all great brands. There are other decent brands but those are still my top picks.
