My Windows 2000 system has a password for windows. I forgot the password.
Anyway to by-pass the password?

There's no way to get around password security in Win2000 once it's setup.
Your only options are to use a ERD disk that has the SAM "file" on it. Hopyfully, this SAM would contain an Administrator's password that you do remember. Or ,if you have access to the %systemroot%/system32/config folder, you could copy the SAM to a floppy or other media. Then take it to another computer and use Lopthcrack to "crack" the password. Of course, there maybe another "hacker" program besides Lopthcrack that can gain you access.
Other than that you would need to reinstall the OS.
