Hey everyone after reading many articles about the pros of building your own PC, I am officially converted from buying through retail. I felt pleased with my latest HP tower from Bestbuy, having spent $1600 on tower+monitor+printer+warranty, only to find I could have built a custom PC for the same price that smashes it in specs.

My budget is $2000, selling current PC to help pay.

Here's my requirements:

- Able to play latest PC games in max at roughly 1680x1050
- Dual monitor setup 22"-24" LCD
- Bluray burning drive
- SLI or Xfire with highend card setup that is good enough that I will NOT have to worry about upgrading them in next year or two
- At least 8-12Gb RAM, I heard Intel i7 or Core 7 w/e beats quad-cores CPUs??
- High end cooling gaming case
- 7200 RPM HDD

I welcome you guys' pro knowledge, please help a first timer build a killer PC!

I am worried about the whole Windows 7/DX11 thing, If I built one in next few months, would it be stupid as I'd then have to upgrade to W7 from Vista 64?
