Prebuilt PC CPU upgrade?

Is it possible to upgrade the cpu of my prebuilt mb from a Pentium D 925 to Core 2 duo E7400. My mb is Intel D946GZIS. Is it compatible with E7400?

Yes, it should support a Core 2 Duo.Just not quad core.

That board will support Core 2 Duo if it has a 800MHz or 1066MHz FSB

It looks like the E6700 would be the best processor.

It does not support the E7400

But damn that e6700 is ****ing expensive, i thought of the E7400 as it wasn't so expensive. I'm currently using a Pentium D925 3Ghz(the first dual cores from intel)
