Hey everyone, I'm completely new to this website and I'm not entirely sure I'm posting in the right section but alas...oh well! :) Anyway, here's my problem in a nutshell:
Over the last two weeks or so, my computer has been under pretty much constant attack from trojans, the vundo! one in particular. McAfee's been doing a pretty good job at blocking them, but a couple have gotten. I have no idea if there are any left in my computer, but I'm assuming yes. Anyway, I downloaded the free version of WinPatrol to try to help with all of this, and over the last four or five days I've been getting this pop up about every 2 minutes (literally) that say:
WinPatrol: File Change Alert
Scotty has detected a change in the following monitered file.
Filename: HOSTS
Location: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
If this change is expected then choose "Accept Change."
If you did not expect or understand this change then "Rejet Change."

And a box with "Disable Future Monitoring of this File" next to it
Naturally I've been clicking "Reject Change" this whole time because I have no idea what it means. Like my username suggests, I'm computer stupid when it comes to how they work. I have no idea if this change is good or bad. I've been assuming that it has something to do with the trojans, but I'm not entirely sure and I'm really getting sick of it popping up every couple of minutes. :(
Any suggestions??
