Acorbat Reader installation

I recently tried to install adobe acrobat onto a pc here ar work. It almost finishes loading and then it give me an error that says

Cannot update the system registry. Any ideas as far as what I may need????\

Do you happen to have Norton SystemWorks installed on your PC? If so, there is an option in the Registry Editor under Registry named Read Only. If this is selected it will prevent changes to the registry. I am not sure if it will stop installations or not, but it's worth a try. If this doesn't help there are several sites through search engines like www.google.com (http://www.google.com) that have mountains of info on the registry. Just mind your P's & Q's while mucking around in there. Be sure to backup the current registry (take a snapshot) before changing anything. I think www.regedit.com (http://www.regedit.com) may offer some assistance. Good Luck!
