i just had a comp built for cysis but still lagging.
amd phenom 9650 quad core mmx 3d now 2.3 ghz
4 gig of ram
1gb geoforce 9500gt
xp sp1
610 sata hdd
all on the newest asus mobo.
any ideas on improving framerate??? the settings are on mainstream.

My acer can run Crysis on the highest settings. It can only do that when It's running nothing else. The secret to doing this is optimizing system settings.
Also turning off the Aero theme helps.

1gb geoforce 9500gtThat would be your problem right there. The 9500 GT isn't even suitable for medium gaming, much less Crysis! Get yourself a real vid card, like a GeForce GTS 250 at the very least, preferably a GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 or Radeon HD 4870 1GB.

I have been seeing a lot of this lately. OEM's and even custom rigs with quads in them but running a 9500. They see quad and think it should run Crysis with no problems.

If you want to play games you must have a decent video card. You could be running four quads and 80GB ram but still have a terrible gaming experience if running a low end video card. ;)

Woah, get SP3. Im surprised games still install with SP1 installed.

Hmm to improve FPS, do what Saph said get a better GPU
