Music Players won't work

I upgraded my mobo, CPU, and memory and am using my same HDD. I loaded the mobo-drivers and everything works but my music players. Windows media 11 player won't work, Yahoo Music player work work, even realplayer. They all say there is some kind of error and must shut down.

Any ideas?

Changing the mobo without reinstalling Windows = fail. Windows really really does NOT like that!

My personal way of solving this problem is to completely reinstall Windows from scratch. Others have had success getting Windows back on track without resorting to such "drastic measures" (opinions, opinions :p) but you'll have to wait for one of them to chime in.

If you intend to play a lot of games, though, I'd still recommend reinstalling Windows.

Which means I'll end up wiping the hard drive clean in the process, right?

You may be able to do a repair install of Windows.

What version of Windows?
