View Full Version : windows 98 se shutdown problems
I had trouble shutting down yesterday. I tried a few times and everytime I tried shutting down, a message came up with something like a program was still running. I gave me an option to wait, end task, or cancel. I tried to end task a couple of times and then shutdown...but no luck. I must have tried it 10times before it shutdown. My question is, could I have done something elso to shutdown, just in case the shutdown did not work....tks http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

I can tell you if you hold your Power button in for like 6 seconds your pc will turn off. This is NOT the answer !!
What I would like to know is why you're having this problem to begin with.......obviously you have something that doesnt want to end, looking into that http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Toni, as you as you said this was a recent as opposed to an 'ongoing' problem I hestated to add that you may want to check to be sure that "Fast or Quick Shutdown",is disabled this helped me http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
