I have recently purchased a game for my grandson. This game requires
that I adjust the colour to 256 colour. However, when this has been
adjusted I receive a notice that this is not compatable with the hardware.
Could you please advise me what is required.

VGA should support 256 colors, maybe you need to install updated video drivers. The video card should be identified in Device Manager. Find it at Start\Settings\Control Panel\System and click the Device Manager tab. Click the plus beside Display Adapters and it should tell you what video card you have.

Once you find out you can download newer drivers from Windrivers (http://www.windrivers.com) or winFiles (http://www.winfiles.com)
