i have now given up with my AGP graphics card as its not worth all the hassle so i have just bought a new mobo (GA-M52L-S3P) my PSU is a Casecom 500W. what is the best graphics card that i can get (buget around £100 hopefully less) i didnt have any joy with my last two sapphire AGP cards so i wont like to get a sapphire. i understand my new mobo is a PCI-E x16. also what is better NVidia or ATI. also i would like a 1GB card although 512 will do

Well, just used a currency conversion calculator, 100 euros is about $130 USD.
SO, knowing this and since you're running PCI-E x16 1.0
here's a few ati and nvidia alternatives from Newegg.com
GeForce 9500 GT 1GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162022)
Radeon HD 3450 512mb (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121250)
Unfortunately that's all newegg has to offer, I don't know any UK based sites so maybe some one else can give you a better listing, I know there are much, much more video cards in the PCI-E x16 range than that, newegg just dropped most of them due to pci-e 2.0 x16 releasing awhile ago.
