I have a multi-printer and just bought a computer with USB. I bought a USB to Parallel adapter but it still does not work. What else do I need to do? I can print but no fax, scan or copy..
Any suggestions?

RTFM
It probably has settings or software you haven't configured right. Read the manual.
Also let us know a bit more info. What kind is it? Brand and model number. Someone else might have one and know a bit about its idiosynchracies.

Pete:
Thanks for replying. The all-in-one printer is from HP 500 series and the computer is a Compac EZ2605. Hope someone can help.

Well, you're in luck. I tinkered with a HP 500 series printer/fax/scanner for a friend a few days ago. It was stuck in fax only mode, so she couldn't scan with it.
Again, check the manual.
It has a group of buttons on front, you'll be better off to leave most alone, and do most of the setting changes in the software control panel. Look for the Mode button, (Don't remember its proper name) and set it to manual or automatic mode. It should have fax only, automatic and manual mode. ( I think...may have to go look at hers again.) I believe manual was what I set.
Once the software is installed, to print simply click the print button from any application, and as long as you have the proper printer selected it should print. You can go to Start\Settings\Printers and try a test page. If it works, it should print from any application.
To scan open the control panel and push the SCAN button on front of the printer/scanner. Put the item to be scanned in the top tray face down.
Faxing I'm not sure about, didn't try it. Check through the software that was installed with the machine, and you should have settings somewhere, and a help file that might...well...help http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
One thing I do remember from the manual, if the printer/fax/scanner is connected to a computer you should always use the software control panel, instead of the buttons on front of the printer. The buttons will make changes that are not noted in the software.
Overall, the best advice I can give you is spend a few days becoming best buddies with the manual.
