Web browsers not connecting to internet.

My friend's web browser is having trouble connecting to the internet. I've disabled the firewall and tried starting it, but still couldn't get a result. He can connect to BitTorrent, ITunes, and Instant Messaging programs just find, but any type of web browsing is out of the question. Here's the HijackThis log file.

Not seeing anything out of the ordinary there.


Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
Select it and click Remove.
Then Download and install the newest version from here:

Download and run Winsockfix from here http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Download the update from here (http://www.gt500.org/malwarebytes/database.jsp) if you have problems.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Cool, I'll give that a shot. It'll be a while before I can post the logs though, because I have to return to his house to set everything up.
