The new motherboard I ordered isn't here yet, but the literature I have for it shows a 16 pin plug for items like the power switch, HDD & power on lights, power & reset switches, etc. Right now these things terminate in separate twisted wires with 2 or 3 prong connectors going to the "stake" type connectors on the old board. Am I in for problems like needing adapters or having to get all new switches & lights with a single wire harness that will match up with the plug on the new motherboard?, If so, does anyone knows whos sells that stuff?

Wait till you get the new board, check it out and see. Chances are you might find it's a similar setup, or can remove the plastic plugs and plug the individual wires onto the pins. (not the best advice, but it should work...)

As long as the pins are marked on the motherboard or in the manual, you shouldn't have any problems hooking it up. Watch for the #1 pin locations, even that's not a major problem though, since none of the switches will do any damage if plugged in backward. Speaker won't work..turn it around. LED won't work...turn it around, etc. None should short circuit and fry your new board.

Hi Grondoline! My Antec case uses the "keylock" pins on my Tekram motherboard for the "power on" LED. Other than that, the connections went as expected.

Suggestion: Work in a well-lighted area. I offset a connector by one pin, but like Pete said, no harm done!
