Windows 95 brought the "Start" command to batch file writing, so we can start one program or a series of Windows programs.

But why isn't there a "Stop" command?

Unix based programs have just this(x-kill & kill -9 PID) but they are very dangerous. Even NT allows you to see every thread and kill them. Doing so tho can cause HUGE problems like zombie processes and memory leaks to name a couple. But even worse is when a child process returns and there is no parent but instead a entirely different program using that slab of memory - CRASH! I dont think MS wanted to put that kind of power in the hands of the common users. Laters...
