My computer shows that 75% of my large hard drive is being used, but I can't figure out what is taking up all the memory! I remember using a program years ago which showed where my biggest files were, and where most of my memory was allocated. Anyone know what this program is, and how I can get it? Thanks http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hey 123,

What about the swap file? Are you letting Windows handle it or did you set up some parameters yourself? Sorry, I don't know much about the program you're looking for. Just trying to figure out whether you're complaining about the large amount of the HDD being used, or whether you're just curious why. Unless you know for a fact that you have a lot of stuff on your harddrive, I would think that maybe you set the swap file yourself, and chose an amount that is too high?

Cheers,

Lo
I assume you mean memory not hard drive.
Norton system info has been out for years and shows this information.
It shows everything that is consuming memory.

I was referring to my Hard Drive memory. I want to know where the files are that are consuming the largest amounts of memory. Thanks!

I'll second the rec for treesize. I have an older version of it and use it all the time.

Hard Drive = Hard Disk Drive [HDD] = Storage space for files
Memory = RAM

Files stored on your HDD do not consume memory.

Now, are you concerned about about a shortage of storage space on your HDD, or about a shortage of RAM memory?
