Hi all
Can anyone tell me how I turn Mp3 into Wave files. I want to be able to burn them to CD and play them on any, and all CD players. I would also like to know if this is legal.

Thanks for the feed back

Have a great day

Any software burning program will do any file conversion. Adaptec, Nero,
ect.....

It's legal as long as long as it's for "personal" use.

Good Luck!

You can download winamp, which is the easiest to convert mp32wav. http://www.winamp.com

hey lambo,

As was already mentioned, if you would get Adaptec 4.0 (or later?)
I have 4.0.... you do not need to convert mp3's just be sure to get CD-R's.. for music...do not use CD-RW's for music.. only for data. Thats because most car and home cd players cant read CD-RW's !! So dont waste ur time making 'coaster's'.

Everyone has a personal experience and preference for 'jukebox applications, winamp, reaplayer, etc.. MY personal favorite is MusicMatch, which also is free http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

As for legality..?? as thats a BIG question these daze

I might have misread sea69, but, after checking on my audio system, you DO need to convert MP3 files to audio files in order to play on MOST car and audio(including combo DVD/CD)players.

It is necessary to make sure that you use CD-R's, not CD-RW's (unless your player says you can) to record your music.

And again, I'm no lawyer but, if you use it for "personal use", it's legal.

I also like MusicMatch, easy to useand good quality( not that I could hear a difference).

Good Luck!

I think what sea69 means is that the recording software will read the MP3s then write directly to the CD-R, rather than you converting them to WAV files, then recording.

BTW: MP3Trim (http://www.help.com/cat/2/657/337/339/tip/6145.html?tag=st.hp.bc_339.txt.tip_6145), a free 169k download, removes extra silence at the beginning and end of the tracks, and fixes bad frames that cause skips.
I stopped getting conversion errors with Nero after cleaning them up first.

Yeah, that could be what was meant, but if your a novice, a statement like that can mean that there is no file conversion needed, and MP3's can be played on any player.

Leading to an increase in the coaster population. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Well, being just above a novice myself, it seemed kind of confusing to me.
That's why I checked it on my audio system, thinking I was wrong about MP3's.

Oh Well, see ya around!

Good Luck & Happy New Year!

thanks Reid certainly thats what I meant !! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
I interpreted his question as : How do I
get mp3's onto (burn to) a cd, so I can play them on any car or home system. (this may not be what he asked, but its what I was answering)
http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
It seemed that he was thinking that he had to convert them to wave file in order to burn the mp3 to a cd that can be played anywhere. He wasnt asking about an mp3 'player' he was asking about putting mp3's onto a cd.. wasnt he ??... and I did state the diff between CD-R and CD-RW plainly.

One further Post on this subject on most 'jukebox' apps (musicmatch 4 sure)
U have a choice on what the bitrate can be set @.
Personally, I like it set @ 128. With most of them this rate is still free (w/out 'upgrading' to a paid version) I find songs sound crisp @ 128 bitrate setting and it takes up less room than higher bitrates that only a dog could hear !!.. (note: anything lower u can hear the diff) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
