Vista Loose desktop

I change my desktop in vista and everytime I reboot it goes back to black screen, also when I am without doing anything for 15 minutes, it also goes black. Everything in Power option and screen saver is default or either deasable. I have up to date AVG and it cannot find anything. Anybody has an idea. Thks.

I am sorry, I should add taht all my icons are there and everything is working fine. Might help you peoples.Thks

Try booting to safe mode (F8 during startup) and see if the problem has gone away.

Hibernation/sleep mode perhaps?

Sorry was out of town on emergency. Everything is set to default in power set up, all the icons show up in normal or safe mode. The question is if it was hibernation, that wouldn't affect the force restart where it all come back dark with icons and everything working fine. Change the desktop, goes ok until I stop working for a while, goes balck with all the icons. Very weird.Thks
