I have an older system, Pentium 233 MHz, 64 MB RAM and the video card will not let me adjust the gamma which is too dark. So I was looking at some used video cards. My question is, is there any difference between PCI and PCI 1.2 and would a video card that specifies PCI 1.2 still work in PCI slot. My motherboard has four slots but it states they are PCI. Thanks, Jim

Hey Jim I ran into the same question once while considering a v-card update for a P133 system. The tech at Diamond had me check the BIOS date and I remember something about early 1995 would not support PCI 2.1 compliance, but later in that year most likely would. You might be able to do a flash update of your BIOS provided your BIOS chips is flash-rom. It is an often dangerous operation and there are disaster/restore options for dong it. Check your mobo makers site for more info on flashing. Maybe this will help you http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Have you tried the brightness control on front of the monitor?

Yes it's cranked up as high as it will go, I even tried it on my other monitor still too dark. This is a backup computer my main computer has a gamma control on the sound card which is very handy.
