I have a CRT HDTV with a HDMI input.

My mobo:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128379

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210

I have a GeForce 6800 XT. Now, can I run an HDMI cable between my pc and tv and get both audio and video? If so, what quality? Is this a viable option for movies/gaming?

Thanks.

2 things: That HDMI port is for your integrated motherboard. Your 8600XT must have an HDMI port. My GTS250 has one and it also came with this cable that connects from the video card to the sound card, I believe, that allows audio to pass through the HDMI port. It looks like this:

So a new video card with an HDMI out will be capable of running to the TV. Excellent. Thanks for the help!

Also do games work well in this fashion? I had hoped to play some Lotro on the big screen from the comfort of my couch :D
