My old jalopy of a PC with a 2.2Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM will still run the old Tom Clancy games and my all-time favorites, Half-Life and Half-Life II. But I've gotten to the point where I'm tired of FPS games and can't play the newer ones anyway. I'm willing to buy an old copy of MYST (or any of the sequels) which I believe will run on my machine.
Questions:
1. One seller on eBay is selling the original MYST with all kinds of disclaimers about it not running well on XP since it was made for earlier versions of Windows. "I am not responsible for incompatibility with your system..." etc. Is this in fact the case? Should I avoid the original MYST with Windows XP?
2. Are there any releases that require more horsepower than my system has and therefore I should not attempt to run?
3. Is MYST one of those games that's so difficult that it's no fun? I like a challenge and having to use some strategy, but when I have to follow a walk-through every step of the way, what's the point?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
