View Full Version : Full screened streaming videos always "freeze"

Whenever I view streaming videos on sites like YouTube, online news pages with video, etc, and click to maximize the video to full screen, it will inevitably play for a brief period, and then freeze. The audio will continue as normal, all other PC functions remain fine, but the video will freeze, until I go back to the smaller view. No freezing occurs in less than maximized viewing. I've recently been viewing SketchUp training vids on YouTube & they play fine in the smaller window, but will freeze after a moment once they are maximized. Very frustrating. I have a 16 meg cable connection & I've built a very fast HTPC running XP, which has no trouble at all playing any vid file available in Zoom, WMP, VLC, etc, but these seemingly pedestrian streaming vids always lock. This happens in both FF & IE. Anyway to fix this? I'm assuming it's a flash issue.

TIA

Fred

I get it all the time, I'm not sure what is causing it though. The only thing that I am sure of is that the HQ and HD buttons on youtube will cause the videos to freeze up, so try not using those for youtube.
