Desktop Internet Running really slow!!!!

Hi.
Got a problem that I cant seem to rectify with my desktop PC.

Since this morning the internet on it is running incredibly slow. Its taking 1-2 minutes just to load up a simple page. Now I have the same internet running on WIFI for my little netbook and that is loading up pages very good as usual so it can't be my internet connection.
I have tried various things such as stopped all background programs using MSCONFIG. I ran my uptodate NOD32 antivirus of which it did detect and delete one virus. I ran Spybot twice and I ran RegCure twice and cleaned everything they detected. I also did a disk error check and ran that.
The Pc itself is running fast when I go into my files but for some reason now its taking ages to bring up all web pages.
I have even tried it with another O/S (firefox) incase IE had a bug in it or something.

Im running 10mb Broadband and when I finally get onto speedtestnet to check my speed it will show that im running just over 8mb.

Like I say my netbook running off the WIFI is perfect. My WIFI is also on security so I think im coming to the conclusion its something to do with the actual desktop pc (maybe a bug that the above programs cant get rid of)

what browser are you using? I.E, FireFox, Opera, other? Does the problem exist in a different browser? Have you tried clearing your cache and your web history?

It's very suspiciously like spyware when it also affects firefox. Which Operating System, version and SP are you using and what security applications a/v and firewall. You could try running MalwareBytes Anti-Spyware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php) but some of the cleverer ones will escape it and need more expert inspection with HJT (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60009).

I ran Nod32 again and this time it did detect a virus which I deleted.
So far so good its running back up to speed again but ill also give the computer a once over with the programs you advised because these viruses have a habit of popping back up straight away.
