removing a partition

I have a 13 gig hd with a partition seperating it into one 6 gig and one 5 gig. I want to remove the partition to gain some more space. Is there any way to do this without having to buy software, or formatting the hd? I don't have any way to save anything outside of the hard disk. Is this possible?

You might try Partition Magic www.powerquest.com (http://www.powerquest.com) (I think). I believe it has the capability of allowing you to keep your data. Read/research it before buying or using (I think they offer some of the older versions for free). Also, if you've got friends with external storage devices you see about borrowing for backup to CD-R or ZIP.
