Advanced System Care 3 is giving this message when updating about the unins000.msg missing, and as such, it can't upgrade. I can't install because it gives the exact same message either. Any ideas what should be the first approach. The operating system is Vista and the AV software is McAfee.

I've been seeing this happen more and more lately with some programs and I'm not sure why. Obviously a file is missing and possibly the registry is dorked. Normally that means you have to get the application completely and cleanly uninstalled and then reinstall it.

This free program sometimes works when the app uninstaller or Control Panel do not: http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Good luck. Maybe others have some additional ideas.

I'll try that, a while back, I had some link to a windows uninstaller thing, but it's no longer in my archives. I'll try that program when I get the chance. I think McAfee had something to do with my problem.

McAfee has always been a problem...in my experience. I can get any of their products for free and, guess what, I don't bother.

Since you are into audio, have you tried this sound editor? It's awesome. It does everything! I found it looking to edit some audio for a home made retrospective "movie".

The only problem is it won't run on Win 7 x64...yet. Some of the sub-components already do though.

I haven't heard of wavepad, I've heard a bit of Ardour (spelling might be a bit off...) Last I heard was that it is only for mac and Linux, and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

If you want a powerful audio editor, it's just as powerful as protools or so I understand. I need to re-install ubuntu or something to play around with it a bit more sometime... the other big problem is it comes with no plugins, but that's an easy fix

the uninstaller that you suggested worked like a charm, thanks
