Need Help with the DirectX

I was surprised to find out just this afternoon that I am unable to access some of the rpg games that I play from time to time. Whenever I click on the game icons, a message box appears telling me that I have to install the latest directx and some display drivers. The problem is, I dont know how. Can somebody please help me, I only have basic knowledge in computers, and I don't want to tweak the settings in the control panel without a guide.

Which operating system and which video card do you have installed?

You may be able to upgrade the video drivers from Device Manger by letting Windows search on-line. DirectX can be obtained from the MS Download site (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx).
