as you can see i,ve had some problems.
it seems like i got everything cleared up,except during

i get to "PLEASE WAIT WHILE SE UP INITIALIZES,
SCANNING SYS. REGISTRY, WIN. SETUP REQUIRES 7340032 BYTES
AVAILABLE ON YOUR P.C.",THATS WORD FOR WORD.
IT GETS TO THIS POINT AND STOPS.I'VE WAITED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR

Hi Cloud,
Are you doing a clean install? In other words, have you formatted the harddisk and set up an active partition with fdisk? Or, are you trying to install the operating system over an existing system on the drive? (That is usually not recommended)
Or, are you trying to install to a harddisk that already has a lot of data on it? If so, Windows may be hanging up because there isn't enough room for it on the drive.
Please post back and give us some more information. For instance, any info relating to the questions above and your system specs. We should be able to get you going, but we have to know a few more details.
Cheers,
Big Blue 66
its my understanding from one of your closed(of which there are a few)topic threads that you should format after fdisk. i can't believe theres one i can answer in here, but i have made this mistake quite a few times.not sure if fdisk is always necessary but the last thing before you run setup should be
format c: /s
hope this will help.

Seems I missed one yesterday...reply in your other post, the only open one, (I think)...check out the links already posted.
I posted a link yesterday concerning problems with setup hanging. Can't find anything specific, but it might help. I think what that's referring to is conventional memory, the first 640K which is all DOS uses, and up until the point setup starts installing files it is still running in DOS mode, and only on the 640K of conventional memory.
I'll be locking this one too, please reply in the other open topic.
