Outlook user accounts

So, my home desktop is used by someone at home. earlier today, when she checked her email in outlook 2007, there were problems not being able to send and recieve. Checking the account settings, there are no visible accounts, but one can go in and edit the accounts and all the information while editing the accounts is correct. any idea where to start to diagnose the problem?

The most likely problem is the server and client cannot see each other. Get the address of the server and see if it can be pinged from the client PC.
