A friend spoke to me and said they have down-loaded this free ant-virus app'
Is it a recommended one? It reputedly tracks trojans etc and eliminates them. It would be interesting to know it's capabilities, with out down loading it first...

Avira and Avast are both good free AVs.

I have Avira Antivir in use, and have no complaints.
Seems to do what you'd expect.
I just leave it alone to do its job.
It displays adverts/reminders to upgrade to the paid version [small nuisance].
I used my firewall [Online Armor] to block the running of the main program that displays the adverts.

Thanks guys. I have been useing AVG for a long time, the latest version suits me. A friend recomended Avira. Old adage: 'If it is not broken, don't fix it.' Think I will stick with the old masters. Thanks once again...;>)
