I currently have a 5.1 surround sound system attached to my PC (5 speakers & a subwoofer) although as you can see from the picture below, the circled speaker isn't working at all. Therefore when I'm playing games & watching movies the sound which is meant to come out of THAT particular speaker doesn't come out at all, due to it being broken. For example, I was just playing the game "Prototype" and there was effects sound etc, and gun noises but whenever somebody started talking I couldn't hear anything. I could still see their mouth moving but no sound was coming out.

I was thinking of changing to a different speaker setup in the hopes that it'd fix it. Can you recommend any from the drop down list shown in the picture?

Many thanks in advance.

Hmm weird, I changed the setting to "Desktop Stereo Speakers" & now the sound is working perfectly, and coming out of all 4 speakers (including the subwoofer), although the top speaker which I circled above still doesn't work, but that's no problem.

I just don't understand how sound can be coming out of all 4 speakers AND the subwoofer when I've changed it to a setting such as "Desktop Stereo Speakers". Surely sound should only be coming out of 2 speakers, and especially not the Sub aswell.

Ah well, I sorted it out which is all that matters I guess.
