My purpose is to be able to scan a partition while it's operating system [Puppy or Windows?] is not in use...
e.g. I'd scan Puppy1 [or Windows] using Puppy2.
[Or perhaps run it within Windows and scan a linux partition]
Then use the operating system [Puppy1?]...
Then reboot to Puppy2 [or Windows?], and scan Puppy1 once again...
And study the DIFFERENCES in the folders/files.
Might show some interesting stuff.
Like why all the available free storage space is disappearing.
Or perhaps changes that infection has made.
I've had some success using the FREE version of SyncBack->[run under WINE]...
To display the "differences" between the "source" [the CHANGED partition contents], and the "destination" [the COPY of the ORIGINAL partition contents].
The scanner I like to use best at present is Space Monger.
At the moment I'm forced [if running within Puppy] to run the PORTABLE version under WINE.
It doesn't scan the Puppy partition from which it is running [Puppy1], so I'm forced to run a 2nd Puppy [Puppy2] to scan the dormant Puppy1.
It would be wonderful if this [or some other] scanner were able to compare 2 scans and display the DIFFERENCES.
I've contacted the creator of Space Monger to suggest they add this functionality.
But I'm wondering if there already exist a scanner that does this.
