I lost my Volume Control?

I lost my volume control.I tried to open it but no display occur.What must i do? How to retrieve it? Can i download it from the internet instead of going to the PC shop for help?
Latest message was" Install Audio Compression". and when i wanted to use voice chat,message appeared" Voice error 32: waveOutopen failed.Does not support uncompressed audio format"

The place to start is to determine if your sound card is correctly installed.....go to my computer/control panel/system/device manager and look at the sound card to see if any ! are present or if it is there at all....if not, reinstall the sound card drivers.
