I have two win nt laptops. How do I use laplink cable (software guidelines please) to do pc to pc (parallel) transfer.

Nearly all of the parallel file transfer methods I've seen are proprietary....both the cables and the software needed to run them.....might try Norton's web site to get more info. Another way to move the data is a CD Burner (USB external type) so long as you have USB port on the one you want to move data from. Much much faster way to move the data.

Take a look at this KB article which explains how to do it with a null serial cable.

NULL-MODEM CABLE CONNECTION (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q172/1/89.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=Q172189&rnk=1&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=W95)

Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
