I'm building my first rig and i could use opinions. This rig is mainly for games. I have a budget of 1,200$ and i am looking for 4-6 years out of the rig with later upgrades. I went duo core but the motherboard can be upgraded to a quad later. I also went 4 gb of ram but can add up to another 4gb later. Thank You.

Go quad core. Also, why are you getting a 40GB IDE drive?

My bad don't look at the 40gb. I'm putting it in my old pc to sell it.

I just built this exact PC for a friend of mine and it is way faster then what you want to get.

Totally agree. With a $1200 budget there is no reason not to go with an i7 system. And yes it will totally squash the parts you picked out. ;)
