Hi everybody........I was wondering if anyone could help me........I am planning to purchase a new PC in the near future......is it any way possable to set up a link between the new and old one to transfer some large files as it would be impossable to do so by floppy. The files I'm trying to transfer are downloaded from the Internet so there is no way of just using a CD to exchange the files.........Hope someone can help me,
thanks in advance,
Steve.

If you're gong to get a new PC, get one with a zip drive or something like that. New Zip disks can be 250mb; that will probably take care of any large files. I don't know what I did before I had my ZIP drive. I'm confused though; if you say you are downloading the files, why not do it to the new computer?

Windows supports Direct Cable Connection, but it looked like too much trouble for me, so I just took the old drive out and put it in the new computer as the Primary Slave and copied the files over to the C: drive.

in answer to your precise question:
Hi
A little more info on ur system would help

I take it u dont have a cd-rw. You can purchase a 'Belkin'- DB25 Male/Male Parallel PC to PC File Transfer Cable (10'), and do a Direct Cable Connection. (around $20.00-us)

go to start, programs, accesories, communications, 'direct cable connection..

a zip drive is nice also. I would suggest a cd-rw on ur next pc as well
