CD/RW

I have just installed a teac cd/rw/54E on my system alongside my samsung scr 323. I read that I have to assign one of the drives to play cd music.
How do I do this? as I can't play cd music on either drive but, both drive read data discs.

Is one of the drives hooked up to the sound card?

I'm assuming that you left the Samsung where it was so it should be hooked up (maybe). In the Control Panel in Multimedia on the CDmusic tab is where you assign the default CD drive for music. If neither drive is hooked up to the sound car look for a wire that has a three (sometimes more) position plug on it and then look for the corresponding place to plug it into on the drive, sound card or motherboard (on board audio). Then assign the default drive.
