Windows will not copy files/folders to a CD unless you have CD writing software installed. Adaptec's DirectCD lets you write data to a CD by right-clicking the file/folder and use the Send To DirectCD menu option. A CD that is prepared for DirectCD must be closed before it is readable on a system without Adaptec software. I liked DirectCD when it worked, but it trashed too many disks that it had written.

I now use multi-session with Nero's Explorer-like file viewer to drag and drop files/folders to the CD. The CD is readable after the burn without the disk having to be closed, and data can be added to the remaining disk space at a later time.

I think you need to copy the folder rather than "cut and paste".

can u make a clearer picture of what u r encountering?

are the files u r trying to copy in use when ur attempting this? (stab in the dark)

With Adaptec, (as Ried has said) there is no "cut and paste". You have an explorer window and u can drag and drop any files that are in ur pc.

ok...so now what ??

what i trying to do is copy the total file called , " my documents" as i have lot in there, and it whole take time to do it one by one, so i throught to same time save the total file, but i guess it does not work that way for that file, other yes but not it

thats because "My Documents" is a folder not a file.

what u have to do is to transfer the individual FILES from the "My Documents" folder (well not 'transfer' but drag and drop them one by one)

**there may be a way to do them at once such as putting them all into a zip format, but Im not good on that so will leave it to those that know. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

You can select all the files you want in explorer, by left clicking and dragging a box round all the files you want or left click then hold down the Control button (still holding it down)then left click on all the other files you want, then you can drag and drop all the files you have selected onto the CD.
I suggest make a folder on the CD, to put all the files into.
