I've just bought a new pc with vista home basic 32bit and it worked fine until I start playing 3d games.

My specs are:
intel core 2 quad
nvidia nforce 630i with a geforce 7100 graphics card
4 gb ram (2 sticks of 2gb)
286 gb HDD

At first I thought it was a ram problem so I installed memtest and at 60% coverage I already had 8 errors, so I tried removing one stick and testing the other. However, now the computer even crashes faster while playing games.
I also had a few BSOD with a memory_management error. I'm sure its not a heat problem because the pc crashed at about 50 degrees celsius while it reached 55 degrees. Now i'm thinking it may be the graphics card. any suggestions?

Did you try both sticks by themselves? Possibly the other one is good while the one you tried by itself is the bad one. It's also possible they are both bad.

Since you ran memtest and got errors it has nothing to do with the video. The video is not really in play at that point.

If you just bought it take it back for a replacement. That is the best advice. ;)

Thanks for the reply jlreich! I've tried both sticks by themselves and the pc still crashes... The reason I didn't bring it back yet is because I found it hard to believe that in a new pc both ram sticks are broken.

Regardless of what is broken if it is new just take it back. You shouldn't have to troubleshot a new system. Let them worry about and just get a replacement.
