Earlier today I uninstalled my sound card to switch back to the onboard audio. Since then I have not had any sound, i went to the asus website and downloaded the audio drivers for my model of computer a Barebones Vintage
V2-ah2 but when I try to install these drivers it says "the audio driver files do not support your computer hardware". I also checked the cd that came with the computer and it doesn't have an audio driver. Does anyone know how I can get my audio working? I can't post on the asus forums because when you go to post it asks for the type of computer and mine isn't in the list heh.
On-board audio is sometimes included with the mother board drivers (At least my experience with new gigabyte mother boards were...) in the device manager, are you noticing any problems with drivers?

That has been my experience also, that the onboard audio drivers are included with the motherboard drivers...and, that they aren't clearly defined as audio drivers...

The only problem in device manager is with a "enhanced display driver helper service".

You might want to try updating the driver in Device Manager. When asked for the location of the driver insert the CD that came with the computer. It has been my experience that sometimes the missing driver is searched for and found automatically...other times you have to find it on the CD manually. Hopefully, it will tell you the driver it is looking for...
Is the operating system the same as was on the computer originally, or has it been updated?

Ok I found the sound driver on the cd but when I go to install it, it says "the audio driver files do not support your computer hardware". Would there be any settings in the bios that would effect the integrated audio that I need to look for?

Ok I checked the bios and seen a setting for "HD Audio" it was disabled. I turned it on and now it installed the drivers and I have sound. Thanks for all the help!

Yep, michial, you might want to check the BIOS for the setting...Oops, I'm a bit late! :D Congrats on heading in there to turn things on! ;)
glad to hear you got it working, thanks for posting back the actual solution
