Media Key Struggle

Hello (first post). Sorry if this is the wrong forum; I would politely ask a Moderator to move it, if that's the case.

I'm having slight problems with Itunes and my Laptop's Multimeda keys. I've got a 17" Gateway® P-7805u FX laptop(Name copied from website to ensure accuracy) running 64bit-Vista with the the fairly standard media buttons; but when iTunes is operating, they serve no purpose, they're simply dead keys.

I have some use of the buttons in WMP (play/pause...that's it).

If anyone knows how to connect iTunes with the Media Keys, I would greatly appreciate some advice.

I suspect that it is iTunes proprietary software that has disabled the keys. However, hang tight...others may know for sure. ;)

Check ITunes' website and search for drivers to reconfigure your multimedia keys. If they don't have any there, I'd check the laptop's manufacturer website. Or you can just start with Google and the results might send you in either direction.
