I have a thread here:
http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?p=435225#post435225
and the last I looked I had 75 views. But, my pc and my neighbors pc kicks me off. I have been checking to see if I got any replies and I see that it shows I am not online. No wonder nobody is writing back!

I don't understand why I can't stay logged in.
I changed the No-Scripts options to allow pcguide. Thought that would do it.
I can't keep coming in here and logging back on.
Please just someone give me advice on how to stay logged in and to answer the pc problem in that link on the previous post. I am not going any where else to find out what is wrong and can't afford to bring it in to have it worked on when I can change what ever needs to be done.
Thanks!

I don't understand why when I come back on the pc and check the message board, I am not signed in any longer. I checked in my profile to see if there was some sort of time limit people can stay on if they aren't active.
Does it have something to do with No-Script? I just added that in the past week.
I went and logged in on another message board and walked away for awhile and it too kicked me off. I could stay active on that site for hours and just move the mouse to see if there were new stuff.

1. Cookies are used by the PC-Guide to keep you logged in, and are time-limited, hence:
(a) Make sure cookies are enabled, not blocked.
(b) Make sure the year, month, date, time displayed by the OS is correct.

It is not unusual for a thread to have many views, but only a few people here are qualified to help with the security concerns you noted, so please have patience... Your thread has been moved to the appropriate subforum so that it will be seen by those qualified...
As for your problem with logging in, do you have the option to log you in automatically set in the forum software?? Have you set your browser to allow PC Guide to place a cookie in your browser... Without those 2 things, you won't stay logged in...
Also, it doesn't matter if you are logged in for someone to respond... This isn't a chat room where we communicate in real time, we tend to respond when we are available to respond...

Also, please stay in one thread for each issue and read the descriptions of the forum before you post...
Thank you...

OK, so I went to
Tools
Options
Privacy
and the box is checked to accept cookies from sites
accept third party cookies is not checked
and it says keep until-- they expire
I will log out and log back in and Firefox always asks me about the password and I clicked it to Remember.

You may also need to clean out Firefox's cache...

Well this is the first time I had to clean out the cache. Had to read how to do it. I looked at CCleaner and thought I saw something about cache in there. So the next time I do it, I have to click Advanced and which one do I check
Menu Order Cache
or
Tray Notifications Cache
or
Window size/Location Cache
or
click all of them.
I guess I had a lot! Thanks for sharing that little tidbit! I love learning new stuff.

Actually, Firefox has an option to clean out the cache... Tools - Options - Privacy - 'Clear history when Firefox closes' - look under Settings... I believe there are a couple of other ways to do it as well...
If you don't include cookies in the 'Clear history', you can do it each time you close Firefox and still be able to get logged in automatically... I also don't have it clear preferences and passwords...

Please stop posting notices in your thread with the logs... The people that are qualified to help will do so when they have time... In the meanwhile, all that activity makes it look like someone is already helping and that is likely to delay you getting help... It is also likely to be really irritating to the person helping who will need to scroll up past all of those irrelevant posts to get to the logs so that they can give you some ideas about what to do...
