a laptop, a mouse, a scanner

I am working on An Acer Laptop, and the laptop mouse has been disabled because when they would type their sleeves would drag across the mouse and...well you know. So they have bought a mouse and use that one however, the mouse often disapears, any ideas why that might be?

IRQ conflict or needs better drivers. Check Device Manager for conflicts, and Windrivers (http://www.windrivers.com) or [http://www.winfiles.com]WinFiles[/url] for drivers.

Then again it might be something totally different I'm not aware of...
