Hello Guys i've been searching for three days now on every forum a solution for my problem. The fact is that i've found many solution but none worked.

No sound is coming out from my pc, and I've tested many functioning devices like my creative 2.1 or headphones

So:
I've got an
Intel Core 2Quad Q9400
Asus P5ql-e (with integrated Realtek ALC1200, 8 channel High Definition Audio Codec)
Nvidia 9600 GT

With Windows XP SP2

After installing XP Sp2 i installed previously the UAA (kb888111xpsp2.exe) and after that the Drivers Downloaded from Asustek website, still it wasn't working. (It says the device is working correctly but no sound is coming out...)
i installed the new driver release 2.81 R2.30 from realtek website but still nothing worked.
Please HELP!!!!

If it was working when you updated to sp2, then stopped after the driver update, then you can rollback the driver:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/driverrollback.mspx

Is there a reason why you're using realtech or is this just personal preference?

it's a new pc and it's the first time i'm using it.
Realtek HD was inside the Motherboard. I didn't know it could do so much problems...

well, lets get started then.

1 when you say no sound, we assume no sound. If there is sound on startup or something and you can't get sound through a media player, they are different problems. Confirm that you get no sound.

2 confirm that your card is being recognized by your board. Click My computer, then click View System Information (top left of screen). click the Hardware tab, then click device Manager. Expand the Sound tree by clicking the "+" sign. You should see RealTek High Definition Audio on there with a little speaker picture next to it. if there is a question mark, then the drivers you have downloaded were not installed properly or are not up-to-date/right for your mobo.

If its not there or there is a "?" then go here:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P5QL-E&SLanguage=en-us
and download Version 5.10.0.5859/6.0.1.58. The name of the driver pack will be Realtek_HDAudio_V51005859_V6015859_XPVistaWin7 in My Downloads.

3 Windows xp is now in SP3. You can try updating that as well. Heck, DL all critical updates from M$. Couldn't hurt if its never worked.

4 Click Start, then Run. In the box that opens type dxdiag. this opens the directx diagnostic tool. Give us all the information on the System tab (system information middle of the tan screen) and all the information on the Sound tab (everything under device and drivers, two boxes at top of that screen).

5 your speakers; what are they, how they are plugged in, etc. Are they coming on when you give them power? have you tried them in another device to confirm that they work?

Start with those and get back to us. It will help if you explore all options as described (even if you're sure you've already done something like it before).

Well I actually discovered that the audio problem was dued to a front/real jack problem of realtek hd... i changed some settings in ASUS Audio control and now i hear the sound.
That didn's resolved the first problem.
When playing any videogame (Dawn of War II, Dawn of Was Soulstorm, Footbal manager 2009), my PC freezes and i hear a tremendous audio loop.

(like here)

When it freezes i can only restart by pressing the reset button.
I read many posts on this thread all over the forum but none seems to be resolving my problem.
CPU T° was at 42°C
The last check i made on NVIDIA T° before the freeze was at 62°C
I came back to SP2 from Windows SP3 because i was having the same problem and i read that SP3 has a lot of compatibility problem with software and drivers and thad SP2 was more stable...
I hoped that SP2 could solve the problem but it didn't happen...
however thank you very much for the support!!!

On Youtube Comments video someone says it's the PSU (i have a 550 W isn't it enough?) someone says it's a fan speed problem of the card or an overheating problem... maybe i should try to change my psu?

SP3 used to be a little unstable. Still is for some drivers, but not mainstream stuff. nVidia and ASUS aren't off the wall; they patch regularly and well.

Its most likely your Vcard driver.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us&ptid=1&psid=51&pid=0
click the little gray button; DL and install. your card is a little dated though.

2nd possibility is heat. 62 is hot but not unheard of. Is this during a game session, right after or under normal use? If its under normal use then your card is overheating, and probably getting a lot hotter when you play games. This can cause it to freeze.
550 is the ragged edge but it should be working fine for your needs.

EDIT: other possibilities are RAM or CPU. Whats your Os and how much RAM are you running?

I downloaded the latest drivers from the website and installed.
Now i'm using photoshop and its temperature is about 55°
last check at 64° was during game session even if i don't know exactly at which temperature the pc crashes because... it crashes and i can't check the "precision EVGA" software...
I have 2 DDR-2/2GB/800Mhz/Samsung 240pin and Xp Service Pack 2. (even if i Know XP can only reckognize 3 giga...)

uh by the way here in Rome now there are about 41° and it's really hot...maybe this environment isn't helping at all...

well, if you have all your updates DLed and installed, i guess you should defrag and give gaming a shot and let us know if its fixed.

The Pc still Crashes... maybe is a matter of PSU or Overheating... but for this I must take back the pc where I bought it so ask for assistance...

If windows and all drivers are up-to-date and its crashing the way you describe, this is a hardware fault. i lean toward the Vcard; its easy enough to fix. it could be memory or board, even CPU. I doubt PSU; when they fail, they tend to leave little doubt.
